Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

The Readynas versions are as follows...
firmware: RAIDiator 4.2.22
ReadyDLNA v1.0.25

The scan is stuck. Unable to identify where the scan has stopped. Read most of the comments on this topic, but none of the question related to my version of the firmware. My firmware versions are newer. Since this is my main repository, it is important to restore access via DLNA. Like most, I've expended considerable money to ensuring the devices in my home work with the Readynas. Now all of my systems are down due to this problem.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Re: Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

If you install the debug version addon from viewtopic.php?f=76&t=27946 you can download System Logs (Status>Logs>Download All Logs) and view upnp-av.log. That may give clues on where it died.

Re: Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

On NVX after the latest firmware upgrade and 1.0.25 I start to see the "Scan in progress"
turning on debug and adding 1 folder at the time to figure out when the "Scan in progress" never finishes point,
I notice that it starts when it encounter video file from Sony A77/HX5V/HX7V 1080p AVCHD.
these files use to work fine and DLNA feed it to

so I can guess that maybe the scanner.c gave up on the rest of the files in the directory. but inotify.c put a watch on the directory and it keeps going back for a scan.

Re: Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

I had exactly the same on my Ultra 2 (Radiator V4.2.22 + ReadyDLNA v1.0.25).

Scans crashed on any .MTS or .M2TS file. Moving the offending file out of the way allowed a rescan to continue until running into another MTS or M2TS file.

I have now downgraded back to Radiator v4.2.21 and scans are happy with any MTS and M2TS again.

Re: Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

switched to RAIDiator-x86 4.2.21 and DLNA back to normal.
will there be fix for ReadyDLNA in Radiator V4.2.22 ?

Re: Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

I'm on RAIDiator 4.2.22 & ReadyDLNA 1.0.25 and having this problem - the scan is getting stuck on an mpg file in my case.

It used to work fine but I can't remember in which version, so I cannot go back.

Is anybody from Netgear listening?

Re: Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

I've got the same problem on my Ultra 4 Plus. I think that it is hanging up on some .mts files. I just rolled back my firmware to 4.2.21 and it's running like a champ again. Hopefully this is addressed in the next firmware roll out.

If anyone has success getting around the problem with the current RAIDiator, please post.

Re: Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

Thank you! I rolled back to 4.2.21 and it's working fine now.

I turned the auto-update off. It's a pity...

Re: Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

I am running the latest RAIDiator and ReadyDLNA on my Ultra 4. I was adding some new HD (m2ts) files today and was also chowning my media files to keep them consistent (a lot of people add them to the folder). Suddenly all my media disappeared from my library when viewed by the PS3 or WMP. I did a forced scan which made my music show up, but the videos never did. I have tried everything I can think of but am at a loss.

I turned off the service and cleared my logs. This is what I have when turning the service on again. I have removed my music share from the streaming, so I just have my videos directory being indexed (hopefully):

I updated the firmware when it was released and have had no issues until tonight. If anyone could help, let me know! I guess I can roll back my firmware if required. I do want to watch my movies on my PS3.

Re: Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

There is a known issue with ReadyDLNA in 4.2.22. For now the solution would be to go back to 4.2.21 and do a full rescan.

Re: Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

Just a quick question, how do you roll back to .21 ? download the image and install as if an upgrade, or do you have to do anything special? Thanks 🙂

Re: Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

Yes apply it as a local update as per the release notes: http://www.readynas.com/RAIDiator_x86_4_2_21_Notes

Re: Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

I just want to chime in and say I had the same issue.
Thanks for posting a solution, I rolled back and it worked. Waiting for a new fixed firmware release now.

Re: Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

I have seen a similar thread to this. I can also confirm its a problem with 4.2.22. This needs to be addressed in the next update please.

Re: Ultra 6 stuck "Scan in progress"

Really???? This is the level of support one can expect from Netgear???? Months later and no fix. Netgear just moved way down my list of brands to consider when buying tech for work. This should have been patched a long time ago.
