Updating SSL
I have a ReadyNAS Ultra 4 Plus running OS 6.10.8 (latest) with Logitech Media Server (LMS) running as an music streaming app. The LMS system admin page details my system setup as follows:
- Hostname: ReadyNAS-U4P
- Server IP Address: 192.168.0.191
- Server HTTP Port Number: 9000
- Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8
- Platform Architecture: x86_64-linux
- Perl Version: 5.20.2 - x86_64-linux-gnu-thread-multi
- Audio::Scan: 0.95
- IO::Socket::SSL: 2.002
- Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.58 (sqlite 3.22.0)
To improve LMS functionality I would like to update SSL from 2.002 to the latest available version.
I saw an earlier post on this (link below), but I would really appreciate a guide on how to actually do the upgrade.
Here is the old post: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS-in-Business/Update-SLL/m-p/2186162
I have the "Shell in a box (SSH)" installed on my ReadyNAS, and so I can run commands as the Root user.
I have also seen where I can download the latest SSL source code: https://metacpan.org/dist/IO-Socket-SSL
I am just not experienced enough to know what steps and commands to follow in order to perform the upgrade, and I can't find it documented anywhere. I do hope someone on this forum can help.
Many thanks in advance.
