I have just upgraded to 6.6.0
Now I find that Plex has an error

Empy resource error. Bad NML call.
Everything was fine before upgrade. ?
I have the latest plex.

Rebooting your NAS and waiting a handful of minutes or so should lead to the problem being resolved.

Re: Upgraded to 6.6.0 on RN214
Hello error404,
Plex broke on 6.6.0. PlexPass 1.2.1 build is available that fix this.
Please see this article from Plex Media: http://www.videohelp.com/software/Plex/version-history

It would have been better if this had been known by Netgear before the release happened.
But you do have several options while you are waiting for plex to fix it:
-temporarily run plex on a PC, mapping the data volume of the RN214 to a drive letter
-switch to ReadyDLNA for now
-get plexpass for a month or so

Re: Upgraded to 6.6.0 on RN214
I haven't
I only use my nas to stream movies and play music.
Now I cant watch a movie, which is all I intended to do tonight.
This has now become a nightmare for me.
Can i revert to the earlier 5.5.2

It's up to plex to fix it (it is their app, not Netgear's). Though I just checked, and some others have posted this issue there.

I understand its a major problem.
Netgear recommends against downgrading.

Re: Upgraded to 6.6.0 on RN214
Ok thanks StephenB
I have now posted on plex, it seems lots of probs there too
I do think this should of been known before rolled out as an update.
God knows how long this will take to fix,
Wish I hadn't upgraded firmware.
You guys are normally spot on

Re: Upgraded to 6.6.0 on RN214
Ok its been some days now since I posted about Plex not working on RN214 version 6.6.0
I have seen plex forums trying to sort this out.
I understand this being a third party addon to readynas.
But at the time I bought my readynas it was marketed as a great plex server.
Oddly I haven't seen any mention of work on trying to fix this, be it readynas or plex on these forums
I do suspect alot of people have bought the 214 as a plex server like I did.
Are you actually in contact with plex about this.
Do you guys talk ?

Re: Upgraded to 6.6.0 on RN214
I too was burned by this update. It's taking some time to address the changes needed by Plex Server. Meanwhile, I'm down...my ReadyNAS built for media streaming sits idle.

Re: Upgraded to 6.6.0 on RN214
Thanks for the reply jpcarro
Glad to see its not only me on readynas forums,
That takes the time to post here about this issue,
I don't know why, but there seems to be more activity by RN214 users on plex forum than here.
Maybe thats a note for this forum about its users preference and usage of the RN214

Re: Upgraded to 6.6.0 on RN214
Netgear is on the hook to update any broken Netgear apps - I think surveillance is the only one.
The app developer/supplier is on the hook to update their apps. Some of them might choose not to. It sounds like plex is close.

Re: Upgraded to 6.6.0 on RN214
yes because plex has found the errors in 6.6.0.
and it you use apt get update os goes to 6.6.0+1 and the missing packages are there.
so by looks plex debugged and readynas have updated on the quiet ?
Is this true

Re: Upgraded to 6.6.0 on RN214
The issue with Plex Media Server was missing pkg's. Update 6.6.0+1 fixes the problem. Netgear was able to address this...not Plex.

Re: Upgraded to 6.6.0 on RN214
Alternatively the libc6:armhf package can be downloaded from our repository and uploaded to the NAS (Apps > Upload), for those uncomfortable with SSH access. An apt-get update will be performed as part of the installation. |

System: Cannot install application libc6-armhf-meta_1.0.0_armel.deb.
