WOL Issues: ReadyOS 6.9.1 on Readynas Pro 6

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to understand why WOL is not working anymore on my Readynas Pro 6 with ReadyOS 6.9.1.

Not tried WOL since 6.2 so i don't know if this behaviour has been introduced in 6.9.1 or older version.

I'm using both ethernet in a LACP Bond. Both ethernet have wol enabled

Supports Wake-on: g

Wake-on: g

I just also checked with tcpdump if switch is forwarding correctly wol packets: yes

Nas is not powering up after a shutdown.

Any hints?

Try breaking the bond and disconnecting NIC2, and see if that changes the behavior.

Just tried.

Nothing changes. Readynas doesn't turn on.

Hopefully another Pro-6 user running OS 6.9.1 will chime in - telling us if WoL is working on their setup.

If you are sending the WoL packets over a WiFi connection, I suggest testing over wired ethernet.   Also, if there is internet security or a firewall running on the sending PC, you might try disabling that when you test.

Hopefully yes, please guys let us know! Is WOL working on your Pro6 on 6.9.1 ?

To answer you, StephenB:

- I'm not sending WOL packets over a WIFI.

- Readynas is receiving wol packets but it doesn't turn on (i checked with tcpdump when unit was online)

- No firewall on

Thank you for your help!

WoL works perfectly fine on my Pro6 running 6.9.1 with no ethernet bonding.

@bypo - Did this ever work for you?  Can you post the trace showing the full WoL packet that the NAS received?

It might also be useful to confirm that the Pro's NIC is active when the unit is turned off.
