Windows backup
I have had a backup running from a remote windows server to the readynas, backup created on the nas and is pulling from a remote source. It has been running for 10 hours now but I am seeing nothing in the log. Is there a log I can look at if I SSH in to the box and if so where is it?

Re: Windows backup
Hi @datalinq, in case your windows server is pulling the data from a workstation and pushing it to the nas you should not expect your nas logging anything about this "backup job" as the nas is not responsible for it. Here your windows server is the initiator and boss of the whole process and its activities would turn out as ordinary writes to the nas' volume.
At least this is what I understand from your post, sorry for any misunderstanding and kind regards.

Re: Windows backup
Thanks for the response Roland but the NAS is the initiator/boss

Re: Windows backup
Ok then, the directory should be /var/log and I would look for filenames like backup, rsynch and/or cron depending on how you backup is conducted.
Good luck with fixing and kind regards
