has only 2 healthy drives, no display, and fan running

Looking for some assistance with my Readynas NV+. The issue started with Drive 4 flashing green indicator. Assuming that the drive was on the way out, or already doomed, I purchased a USB backup drive the unit booted up OK but I was unable to power it down using the power button, it appeared to be frozen. I then removed the plug so I could try and reboot the device and now all it does is show healthy indicators (green) for drive 1 & 3, no display, fan continues to run at full noise, cannot see the device on the network.

I am really starting to panic now as I have not been able to backup my extremely important data and cannot even get the device to boot. PLEASE HELP

I am dubious about doing anything else at present but curious as to whether I can swap drives between bays for diagnosing whether its failed drives or the NAS itself as it was being difficult. Will/can this dig my hole deeper?

I am running 4 x 2T Seagate Barracuda drives

Model: RND4000v2|ReadyNAS NV+ v2 Chassis only

Hi Kiles,

Welcome to the Community!

I would not recommend swapping the drives between bays because it will just make the issue worse.

It would be best for you to contact NETGEAR support (paid support) so they can check what caused the issue and also, assist you in recovering the data.
