one workstation causes another with data on the nas to crash a program.

I have a readynas 104 with 1.8 Tbyte and firmware 6.75 which stores quickbooks data and email pst files.  One email account (5 gig of data) has been locking up.  Today I was working on the email account, and looked at the data file in explorer when another user told me that quickbooks had shut down.  I had only accessed the "email" shared drive and not the "data" drive.  As I now recall, it took some time to open the ready nas directory.  I also noticed that I had an error in email "no permission to access the file".  the workstations are Win 7, and this is Office 2016 Home & Business.

I have updated the firmware and am watching to see if the problem re-occurs

Thank you

Your firmware is almost a year old, so you might consider updating it.

Perhaps download the log zip file, and look at the disk health in disk_info.com.  It might also be useful to look in system.log and kernel.log around the times you were accessing the share.
