problems after firmware upgrade to 6.10.1

I upgraded by ReadyNAS212 to 6.10.1. Couple of things happened.

Raidar could no longer connect to it... but I could connect to it

by typing directly into my browser.

Also.. on the network (MAC OS10.12)...  my network shows

the name with a ? after it...

The NAS is functioning but really really slow. I reloaded the firmware.. and that helped

for only a short while. It did reset the ip address... and I set it back to the static ip...

but still slow... The ACT light is on a constant blinking.... When I connect to it through

browser it doesn't show any errors.

Re: problems after firmware upgrade to 6.10.1

Hi @bouellette

Welcome to the Community!

When you mean reloaded the firmware is it USB recovery or just OS Reinstall? If it's OS Reinstall it might not always resolve any issues with the NAS. Have you checked the logs? Kindly send it to us through PM using google drive if possible so we can help. There might be underlying issues and is not really caused by the update so checking the logs would be best.

Hope this helps!

Regards

Hi @bouellette

Is the NAS not showing on RAIDar? Also, do you have any apps installed?

Is the Admin page slow or the NAS operation is slow (read/Write)?

Regards

The NAS shows on the Raidar... but you cannot connect ... the Admin tries to connect...

but them comes up with the error page that says it's either turned off or busy.

I can connect quickly through any browser. I'm attaching a screenshot of my

network connections ... before all this... I did not have a ? in front of the server

and you could see all the shares.... We connect through the AFP...

It seems to be running much faster now... after a complete rebot of modem, router, switch, etc.

Also...  on the NAS... the ACT light is a constant blinking blue light... The other older

NAS drives I have... that light is solid blue.

Re: problems after firmware upgrade to 6.10.1

I believe Raidar requires 32 bit Java.  I had to install the 32 bit vesion before Raidar worked.

I have adifferent problem, after the update to 6.10.1 all of the graphs in the Performance page disappeared.  I'm going to downgrade to 6.10.0

Re: problems after firmware upgrade to 6.10.1

Raidar sees the NAS... but when you click on the Admin page and try

to log in it is very slow.. and then you get an error message saying the drive

is off or busy. When you connect through a browser it connects immediately.

I will try the Java fix.

Attaching screenshot of how my network connections look on my mac.

Before this upgrade the server appeared differently. It didn't have a ? in front of it,

and it showed all the servers in the main list... although you could not connect that way.

We connect through AFP.

The NAS appears to be working well now... we are on deadline today to publish and

the speed is acceptable.... just odd these two things just not acting correctly.

Also.. one mac could connect .. but in the "get info" box it showed up as connected

under volume/AdDesignNew... not afp://GraphicsServer(AFP)... etc.  She could open

the volume but it was blank.

Just weird little things happening.

Also. in the Screenshot... the GraphicsServer shows up all caps.. just can't remember

if that's how it displayed before...

What's odd here is that you shouldn't have seen any graphs on the RN212's performance page before.  Performance graphs are only available on the x86 NAS (RN300 and above).
