"Remove Inactive volumes ..." error message on RN314
ReadNAS Model: RN31400
Serial #: 3C38460E0022C
Firmware version: 6.4.0
Configuration:
- XRAID
- 4 x 3TB drives installed
- the system is NOT using encryption
History
- Disk 3 started reporting errors and on 22-Sep report a status change from ONLINE to FAILED.
- The failed disk was replaced by a new 3TB disk on 23-Sep
- The logs show a status change for disk 3 from RESYNC to ONLINE. After this the system seemd to be fully operational
- Within 2 minutes of disk 3 status achieving ONLINE, disk 2 started reporting errors
- On 24-Sep disk 2 was replaced by a new 3TB drive
- After this the system never recovered and the error message "Remove inactive volumes to use the disk. Disk #1, 3, 4" is displayed in the web admin tool. The system boots but the volume (just one for the RAID set) cannot be accessed.
I've read through a number of other postings with the same error message but there is no solution that appears obvious for my circumstances. I have downloaded the system logs but I cam't see anyway of attaching them to this post.
If anyone can point me towards a solution I would be very grateful.
Steve
