some questions about the rndu2000 NAS Server
I am a fan of SYNOLOGY for NAS. For the rest of the range, I fled because not able to achieve my expectations the blow quality / price unfavorable for SYNO.
NETGEAR WIFI ROUTER, I know by DD-WRT OPENWRT ...
even with this type of bone, it is really a tank. A little slow but above all able to work in extreme conditions and there, I like the strong who hold the blow both in cold and hot (temperatures -8 ° + 50 °).
I even had the pleasant surprise of seeing my camera resurrect
after a flood (admittedly it breaks but after 3 hours of cleaning and drying in the hair dryer, he left).
All this to say that my research is directed towards "all-this all-that", able to make coffee. What I royally mock for that I have a coffee maker.
Here are my questions:
11111111111 /
RNDU2000 server access
via local network impossible.
if I type the ip address
I have a favorable return with the login / password but I only fall on the backup page.
can not access the administration otherwise than by connecting directly to the RNDU2000.
Have I made a mistake or it is not done?

MATERIAL HARDWARE
MAXIMUM CAPACITY per bay, so by HDD?
MAXIMUM CAPACITY by DDR3, by memory?
is this manufacturing capable of supporting bones such as DD-WRT or open-wrt etc. ?
Precision: here I speak here, not of possibility proposed by these systems, but of someone who has really tried and found before such or such impossibility, incoherence ....

SMS EMAIL
Most NAS manufacturers or NAS servers have already incorporated the concept of SMS addressing.
Quick + method adapted to the sending of emails that we will not read before the end of the day if we are a line adsl or fiber at hand.
If I take SYNOLOGY,
I can be notified by email, SMS and ...
question:
HOW DO I go about being informed by SMS?
LINUX WINDOWS
for most of NETGEAR's competitors
web access can be done from any browser.
I come back to my first question
Is it possible here?
SECURITY
"Admin"
is preinstalled and I do not see how to rename it and / or to create an administrator with the maximum rights.
if in the previous question there is an answer allowing the renaming this question has no reason:
if admin can not be changed,
I would like to replace it with another admin with the "rights" that he AND I wish to know how to inhibit the initial "admin".
Currently, this is a basic security principle to name or block all admin, and passwords such as 0123456 azerty .... etc.
PORTS
again I have not found a solution (I said at first I discovered this product and then have the pleasure of taking a much more sharp, powerful).
I wish to be able to rename all the ports and to make the attribution according to MY specifications and not that of NETGEAR ...
FIREWALL
there I admit my surprise: I have not seen tabs to protect the machine.
Is there a FIREWALL included or to be included in this product?
For the moment, I guess this device can not be put in PTZ
that's it that's all
And it's so "so much" that I will appreciate your answers by question to help me make my choice for the future
Excellent holidays to all

Re: some questions about the rndu2000 NAS Server
I cannot understand any of your rant. Perhaps you should start by reading the manual: ReadyNAS_Business_SW. It's a bit old, but the basics are still the same. Once you have done that, you can come back and ask some specific questions, without including references to another brand of system I know nothing about, and we will try to help you. If something didn't work as you expected, state exactly what you did, the result, and how that differed from your expectation.
You do know that the RNDU2000 is an end-of-life product, I hope. It can be updated to the latest OS6 system, but that is not officially supported by Netgear. If you are new to the ReadyNAS, and it sounds like you are, purchasing an obsolete product was not your best starting point.
