Automaticaly power off fail when manually powered on
Hello!
I use a ReadyNAS 102 for nearly 2 years and since approxymatly 6 months, I got some power off problems.
But first, the configuration:
Ready NAS 102 with 2 Western Digital RED 3To
Updated to 6.4 firmware
No apps installed.
An APC UPS set directly on NAS
Automatically Powered on every Monday-Friday from 5PM to 11PM
Automatically Powered on every Saturday-Sunday from 8AM to 11PM
Wake online active
This configuration works perfectly well, it automatically turn on and off every day, to save power and HDD time usage.
But sometimes, I need to use it beyond this time range so:
_I turn it on with the power button
_Or I turn it on with a WOL magic packet.
The power on works perfectly but the NAS didn't automatically turn itself off at 11PM: it stays on with the power led blinking indefinitly.
This behavior started 6 month ago approximatly, I don't remember the firmware version at this time. But when I first used the NAS, this problem never occured.
Does anybody have a clue about this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Automaticaly power off fail when manually powered on
Perhaps the NAS thinks some background task is pending. For example, a backup job that it mistakenly thinks is still in progress.
Start be looking for something like that. Also, check the drive SMART stats, and look for ATA errors. Another poster says they were responsible for his shutdown problem.

Re: Automaticaly power off fail when manually powered on
Thank you for your reply!
_No backup job is set.Mainly because this NAS is used as a backup unit or to store non important files.
_No ATA error is reported by the unit.
I disabled as well the snapshots.
Another idea?
Thank you in advance.
