Can't update 102 to firmware 6.4.0

I have tried using the NAS webpage (FIREFOX) to auto update and also a manual update of downloaded firmware without success.

The unit uploads the image and prompts a reboot to install yet it doesn't install on boot.

Can you confirm the current Firmware of your RN102 unit? Also have you tried using a different PC and browser?

Yes I have tried a different browser, I have had a message from Christine (support) that suggests the checksum fails when it verifies the update.

I do have exactly the same problem. ReadyNas 102 on 6.2.5 won't update to 6.4.0. I tried twice and it downlodas the package ok but nothing happens on the next reboot. Still on 6.2.5

first of all this is a good occasion to perform a backup of all your data before proceeding.

Failed FW upgrades can lead to data loss so please do a backup now if you have not done so already.

With failed FW upgrades it is also advisable to contact support as your case might be different from what I experienced and you may run into problems.

In my case I had a checksum mismatch when trying to upgrade from 6.2.5 to 6.4.0. My problem was solved by downgrading to 6.2.4 first and the upgrading from 6.2.4 to 6.4.0.

I just checked the build.log for 6.2.5 and see no changes that would have caused the checksum error on 6.2.5 that would inadvertently work in 6.2.4.  I'm curious if more people resolve this issue with this method.

When you try to install 6.2.4, does it tell you that you can't downgrade, or it tries to reboot and still fails?

Support told me to better wait for 6.4.1. as they have received quite a lot of reports about problems

It doesnt say i can't downgrade. It says it wants a reboot to install firmware.

I do this and it still is the existing firmware. I have also cleared out the browser cache

downgraded to 6.4.2 and that enabled me to update to 6.4 no probs!

Unfortunately, I can't confirm that this is working. I do have an 102 with firmware 6.2.4. I followed the support note.

The initrd.log still gives

[2015/11/01 03:09:29] Update checksum verification failed!  Aborting.
[2015/11/01 03:09:31] Update image checksum mismatch (7d47463d9c9014d7dc3a1cd8b88d33a7/...)

So I assume there is a more fundamental problem to it.

Has anybody an idea how we can support Netgear to resolve this issue (e.g. where to send reports to channel them correctly?)

what is the difference between the workaround of your link and the workaround of the link I have reported not working for me? They are both pointing to the same workaround, so I assume you have overlooked the link I provided with my previous post.

When get admin page I see info about new 6.4.0. Click update, ist downloaded and instal. After this again see info about new 6.4.0 and I have old 6.2.5

The same when I try update manual via page.

The same when I try update via USB (boot menu)

The same when I try update 6.4.1RC 

I try first 6.4.0
