Running backup of some larger volumes last night to a USB 2.0 connected 2tb drive.
At some point overnight it failed and the on screen message on the box is __percpu_counter_add+20
The box appears to be hung up at this time.
I have done an search on that message with no results.
What are my next steps?
Firmware 6.4.1
4x 2tb drives.

New USB/SATA enclosure. The data on the drive in the target folder was corrupt. Deleted the folder and initialized the drive again.
All backups now working as planned.
My biggest concern was data corruption on a reboot. All data is good.
Looks like I am back in business.
Thanks for your guidance.

Re: Error Message percpu_counter_add+20 - ReadyNAS 104
Hi,
Can you send me a copy of your dmesg.log?
6.4.1 outputs kernel level errors to the LCD, most of these errors will show up in dmesg.
If you can't get into the device because it locked up, reboot and pull logs ASAP, grab the systemd-journal.log and send that instead.

Can't seem to find a way to upload the logs to you. If you could point me in the right direction, I'll send them along.

Re: Error Message percpu_counter_add+20 - ReadyNAS 104
Hi tburba,
Welcome to the community!
Here are the instructions on how to send the logs. Could you tell us if this USB backup has been running fine before? and if you have tried another external USB storage to further isolate the problem.
Looking forward to your response.
Kind regards,
BrianL

Logs sent.
The external USB encloser is an older USB 2.0. The drive inside it is new. It had been working as an external drive but I had not moved much data to it before. I will probably have to get a new USB encloser to try something different.

I believe your USB needed a reset and unsuccessfully did that.

The device kept resetting while the NAS kept trying to contact it. Do you have another USB you can try with and see if you have the same effect? (basically ruling out this USB hub)
