RN316 (6.4.1) - usb3 device disconnects
Hi there,
I'm using a RN316 and have updated to latest firmware (6.4.1). I'm trying to transfer data from a couple of old hdd's (a seagate 750gb and a 2tb) using a USB3 dock that I recently purchased - ASTONE clonedock DOC-232.
The dock is externally powered, appears to be functioning properly, the RN recognises and mounts the (NTFS) volume. However, it seems to disconnect during file reads at random. It appears to be more sensitive to large file reads than small file reads. The RN reports "The external storage device was disconnected."
Is this possible a BIOS problem aka https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/RN314-USB-3-0-disconnects/td-p/876254 ? If so, where can I find an updated BIOS?
Any help would be appreciated.

What is the date showing in bios_ver.log?
Which services and apps are you running?
Did you see this problem before the firmware update or only afterwards?
Can you send me your logs (see the Sending Logs link in my sig)?

Just running standard aps. Antivirus, Plex, etc. Logs sent.
I've successfully used other usb3 devices before the firmware update.

You already have the latest BIOS.
Perhaps try disabling the anti-virus service and see what difference that makes.

So you didn't use this particular dock before updating to 6.4.1?
Do your other USB3 disks still work fine with 6.4.1?
