Correct wording is Your NETGEAR Storage is not accessible from this computer, please check your network setting.
Interestingly I was able to access it from this mac yesterday and increase my timemachine GB storage. However today I cannot access it via Raidar or even by typing in directly the 10.0.*.* address. Yet the mac beside this one can access it straight away read files and enter the admin page. All drives are healthy and I still have 1.8TB or 5.56 TB remaining. Any ideas?

Re: Raidar finds Netgear storage but says it is not accessible
How are the macs connected to the nas, same switch/router?
How do your LAN clients get IP addresses?
Can you access the other Mac from the problematic one?
Have you checked the Network settings of the problematic Mac, and that the subnet is the same as the nas and other Mac?
Have you rebooted everything?

Re: Raidar finds Netgear storage but says it is not accessible
Both macs are connected by wifi to the nighthawk which the Nas Drive is attached too. Both macs can see NAs via Raidar.
Both macs used to access via Admin log in at the set IP address. Problematic Mac now can't as of today. Other one no problem. Can type IP address striaght in and away it goes.
We dont link macs So cannot access other Mac from Problemac one.
Subnet and routers are the same on all three devices.
Have rebooted NASdrive and Problematic Mac

Re: Raidar finds Netgear storage but says it is not accessible
Which firmware version is on this 104?
Are you running the same version of Mac OS X on each Mac? Are you using the same web browser?

Re: Raidar finds Netgear storage but says it is not accessible
version 104.
One mac the accessable one is using Maverick
The non complient one is using Yoesmite.
However now both will not log on or contect. The password is no longer accepted and the recovery email and answer does not work. We are effectively now locked out and can only access as guests.
All three have been rebooted.

Can you send me a screenshot of what you see in RAIDar?
To take a screenshot press Command+Option+4 and select the area of the screen that you wish to take the screenshot of.

Re: Raidar finds Netgear storage but says it is not accessible
Mac, Raidar 6.0
Today I try make factory reset and now RAIDar see Duo on 192.168.1.50 (same network as I am). Now I can access setup to choose raid level.
Propobly problem is only there if I install new hard drive. When I installed new drive yesterday, setup goes automatycly after few minutes with xraid.

Were you adding or replacing a drive? If replacing, did you have 2 drives installed before?

Re: Raidar finds Netgear storage but says it is not accessible
Hello,
I have the same probelm with access but after a different action.
I have a ReadyNAS 102 with the four HDD installed in the wrong order. I have order of 4TB, 4TB, 6TB, 6TB. And after discussions on another thread wished to back them up and move the HDD around to 6Tb, 6TB, 4TB, 4TB. There is 3.75TB of data on them in X-Raid set up/
I plugged in a 5TB External HDD to the front and rear USB Port in turn and when i triedto open it up on NetRaidar & via 10.0.1.xxx received the same message. I tried to reboot with the USB connected to the Front then the rear and again with the External HDD disconnected and still cant access the NAS !
Cannot access via Finder or windows explorer now either - so i am effectivly locked out of my data.
any ideas ?
Regards
Howie

I think you mean RN104. Just to make sure there is no confusion here - simply reordering the drives will not help you. You need to recreate the volume (or do a factory install) with all disks in place. All data on the drives would be lost - so you need to back it up.

What firmware are you running?

Re: Raidar finds Netgear storage but says it is not accessible
to StephenB:
Yes ReadyNAS 104 - and Firmware V 6.4
And yes I'm aware that just reodering the Disks isnt the way to go. Thats why I have bought a 5TB USB drive to back all the data onto.
Also to confirm - if i plug in a USB Drive to either front or Rear USB Ports the ReadyNAS freeses most of the time. If you look at the log entries i have tried to cut & paste there is a gap of three hours from 16:13 to 19:51 where i just left it to see if it would sort itself out. only way to get a responce was to cut the power and reboot it afterwards.
The drive is a seagate ST5000DM000-1FK178 which is sometimes seen and i have triedto Format - thinking the NAS would format it the way it liked.

Re: Raidar finds Netgear storage but says it is not accessible
Hi again,
progresss report.
So I pluged the External drive into a windows computer and formatted it to a single partition of 5TB.
Shut down normally the ReadyNAS and plugged the USB HDD into a rear Port as the manual states they are USB3 and the front is USB2.
Booted up the ReadyNAS again and it sees the USB Disk and for what it is also. so thats good.
Presently performing a back up of all data to it.
One strange thing is when browsing under Media are there folders - USB_HDD_1, USB_HDD_2, USB_HDD_3 when there is only one physically there !
Also there are no size details of these folders so i had to guess that 3 is the one to back up to.
regards
Howie
