Readynas 516 USB unmount/remountrw

Hi.

I am trying to use this device, i typed in above. But for me its kind of hard and unituitiv. My mainquestions are: How can one remount an USB-HDD to RW-mode and how to throw it out, to disconnect it safely if you are not admin.

Greetings,

Hello warum,

Disconnecting it safely is done via admin page, the person who has the access to the admin page can do this. When there is a USB disk plugged in to the NAS, it will show on the admin page and will be added to the shares. You will immediately notice and identify that it is the USB when you get to the list of shares. You may click Network Access to set its permission just like what you can set on the other shares of the NAS.

Hi,

The problem is that you would need to be the admin in order to do this operation. Ejecting safely and so on can only be done from the GUI and that of course requires admin login.
