Running out of space on root, but can't figure it out.root filesystem full

So I started getting a ton of email saying that root was full. It eventually got to 100%.

But when I was able to SSH to it I saw:

root@ReadyNAS:~# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
rootfs 4.0G 909M 2.8G 25% /
tmpfs 10M 4.0K 10M 1% /dev
/dev/md0 4.0G 909M 2.8G 25% /
tmpfs 492M 4.0K 492M 1% /dev/shm
tmpfs 492M 5.7M 487M 2% /run
tmpfs 492M 0 492M 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
tmpfs 492M 8.0K 492M 1% /media
/dev/sdd5 3.5T 2.5T 757G 78% /media/USB_HDD_2
/dev/md127 1.9T 1013G 842G 55% /data
/dev/md127 1.9T 1013G 842G 55% /home
/dev/md127 1.9T 1013G 842G 55% /apps
tmpfs 50M 0 50M 0% /var/replicate/shm
/dev/sdd5 3.5T 2.5T 757G 78% /run/nfs4/media/USB_HDD_2

Any ideas??

WHen I looked at it some time ago it looked like btmp was filling up (probably from some attach on my ssh port which I probably need to change). But when I checked not it wasn't there at all...

Well, it isn't full.

Did you also check inodes (df . -i)?
