STUPID me .. i did something wrong.. HELP!!
I pressed the rest button on my readynas ( stupid me lost root password ) and i thought that it would only reset the system and not erease the drives.
I can access the readynas on SSH and it seems that all data isnt gone ..
readynas:/# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hde1 1.9G 918M 1.0G 47% /
tmpfs 16k 0 16k 0% /USB
readynas:/#
readynas:/# ls -la
-- STRIPPED ---
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Jan 3 2012 FTPSTORAGE -> /c/FTPSTORAGE
drwxrwxrwt 2 root root 40 Oct 12 21:31 USB
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 Oct 23 2010 addons-config -> /c/addons-config
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 Mar 9 2009 backup -> /c/backup
readynas:/# cd c/backup
-bash: cd: c/backup: No such file or directory
readynas:/#
But as you can see i cant find the data?!?. Anyone got any advice?.

Re: STUPID me .. i did something wrong.. HELP!!
What model readynas?
No backup obviously.
What did you actually do? Did you do a factory reset? The reset button does not do anything on its own, it is used to access the boot menu. I take it you were trying to do an OS reinstall which does reset the password without deleting data.
What happens when you boot, are there no volumes?
Your best option is to contact Netgear support, tell them what you have done and ask for data recovery services. You will have to pay, and there is no guarantee they will retrieve your data.

Problem solved..
Fsck prevented me from seing the data, after it ran through all data was still ok and accessable.
