Since Firmware 6.5.1: upnphttp.c:1372: error: Rejecting wide link in upnp-av.log
I use the ReadyNAS as a home media/movie server.
It had been working superbly for the past year or so until about 2 weeks ago, when it start to disconnect while watching movies (about every 20-25 minutes it would disconnect). That was using the previous firmware level 2.2??
So this weekend I upgraded to the firmware level 6.5.1 and now I can not play any movie. The media players report that the
content is not found or available when I select a movie.
While reviewing the logs, I see that minidlna server logging "Rejecting wide link" for the failed attempts:
Aug 28 08:39:03 homeflix minidlnad[16340]: upnphttp.c:1372: error: Rejecting wide link /data/Videos/movie.mp4 -> /data/Upload/movies/movie.mp4
I have been using symbolic links for over a year without any issue and I have my catalogs organized nicely by using these symlinks.
Does anyone know how and can provide instructions I can change the configuration of minidlna to work as it did at earlier firmware levels so that it doesn't reject the use to symliks?
Thank you

Yes, the default was changed to a more secure setting.
From SSH, just run this command to allow wide links:
echo "wide_links=yes" >> /etc/minidlna.conf.local
