Weekly RAID Scrubbing?

I have a ReadyNAS Ultra 6 Plus that's set to scrub disks weekly. And almost every week, the RAID scrubbing actually occurs - it takes about 6-7 hours to complete. I have 3 disks that are configured as RAID Level X-RAID2. I ran a disk test on them but didn't see any errors. I'm wondering if this weekly scrubbing is normal behavior or if there's some kind of problem.

It takes time to make sure the disks are synced correctly. I perform disk scrubbing monthly and run the Online filesystem consistency check weekly.

Personally I wouldn't schedule scrubbing weekly - monthly or longer should be sufficient. I see no need to stress the disks that frequently.

Like mdgm, I run the online filesystem consistency check weekly.
