What is happening to the unit that makes you believe it is dead?
You have several options if it is dead:
1. Find anotherr NV+, use a spare disk to update the firmware on it, then insert all your disks in the same order and power up.
2. If you are planning to buy another readynas you can contact Netgear support who will guide you through a process that may allow you to retrieve your data. This will cost money and you would need space to backup all the data during the process.
3. Mount the array on a Linux system: there are guides for this available which we can point you to if you are considering this.
Unfortunately the link is not working at the moment, I'm not sure if this is a temporary problem or not. I will PM the owner and see what is happening.
I don't have a copy of the guide but I suspect someone here will. I think the process is fairly straightforward.

Yes the link is working and thanking you very much in advance ; i will do it over a few days when my IT is vack from holidays , because about the syatem linux and ubunto , i am just a beginner and prefer to do it in the presence of someone who knows more than me . Thks again very much
