cannot create user 'readynas'
Hello,
On my new Readynas Pro4 I am not able to create a new user with the name 'readynas'. I always receive an error message saying that the user already exists, although such an user does not appear on the user list in Frontview.
On my old NV+ I had an user readynas who also was visible in the user list.
Any ideas why this happens? Is there a default hidden user called 'readynas' on x86-based systems?
Thanks a lot,
Klaus

Re: cannot create user 'readynas'
We have a hidden user named ReadyNAS for Time Machine purposes, IIRC.

Re: cannot create user 'readynas'
It sounds like your NV+ was setup on firmware prior to when the Time Machine feature was added. The firmware the Time Machine feature was added in is mentioned at http://www.readynas.com/TimeMachine
