Dear community, I would like to understand in detail what app "piwigo" could do for me.
Unfortunately, I was not able to find any kind of documentation when looking at the apps page on any of my ReadyNAS. There is just a very brief statement "piwigo photo album software database name is piwigo. database user is root without password". Far from being enough to get me clicking the button "Install" to test it 🙂
So, here are 2 questions I kindly ask the community's input, though:
(1) Is there any info available somewhere to shed a light on the capabilities of this app? A short post with link(s) to relevant resources would be very much appreciated.
(2) Are there any potential pitfalls to think about before installing the app and could the poor guinea pigs, who probably had to suffer from those, share their experiences with the rest of the community to keep the damage as small as possible?

What would the Netgear community do without you, @StephenB. I still wonder, why it is so difficult for Netgear to put some meaningful links as background information joined to the icon for the app install.

I believe that the information posted comes directly from the app developers. Netgear likely doesn't want to change that content or take any responsibility for it.
Well, Netgear's not changing the information provided by the developer or not taking responsibility for the content I can completely understand.
However, Netgear should have some kind of minimum requirements regarding information a developer needs to supply before the app gets eligible for installation.
Even with Netgear being in the developer role (kernel plus app), they are not giving a good example of providing documentation and background information to the interested user, who is considering the install.
I agree there are problems to be solved here - IMO the biggest ones are the lack of good apps and problems with apps breaking firmware updates (and vice versa). More information on the apps would of course be helpful too.
