FVS318N Radio Channel manual config causes unexpected behaviour

On my FVS318N I have configured the wireless channel to use Channel 6 (2437 Mhz) as a manual setting. However, the Current channel reported by the GUI is Channel 3 (2422 MHz)

Any effort in making a manual channel configuration persist fails completely. I need a fixed channel setting as another wireless bridge has been configured to extend the network to a wired section.

Firmware Version: 4.3.3-6 (Latest)

below is part of the config file related to the Radio. Is this a bug in the fimware?

dot11Radio = {}

dot11Radio[1] = {}

dot11Radio[1]["path"] = "1"

dot11Radio[1]["dothMarkDfs"] = "0"

Re: FVS318N Radio Channel manual config causes unexpected behaviour

Hi noibla,

Welcome to the community! Smiley Happy

Let us isolate the problem.  You mentioned the term "manual setting," does it mean that you have a console access to the FVS318N and set wireless channel 6 via CLI?

I look forward to your response.

Re: FVS318N Radio Channel manual config causes unexpected behaviour

Hi DaneA,

The configuration is just set from the Web interface. Switching from Auto Channel to a specific channel selection.

Re: FVS318N Radio Channel manual config causes unexpected behaviour

Hi noibla,

Here are my follow-up questions:

a. Were you able to change to any channel just fine before?

b. Have you tried to use other browsers to access the web-GUI of the FVS318N then set the channel to 6 or any channel?

c. Did you try to reboot the FVS318N then check if the setting remains in channel 6?

I look forward to your response.

Re: FVS318N Radio Channel manual config causes unexpected behaviour

a. Were you able to change to any channel just fine before?

Have not changed this before. The WIreless bridge required a fixed channel and at reboot of the FVS318N, the FVS318N reassessed the Radio channel to be used on Auto setting.

b. Have you tried to use other browsers to access the web-GUI of the FVS318N then set the channel to 6 or any channel?

I use only one browser exclusively. Router responds after changing the channel "Operation Succeeded" but

c. Did you try to reboot the FVS318N then check if the setting remains in channel 6?

Yes and it did remain configured to the settign on channels 6, however the actual channel is 3 as highlighted in the original problem statement.
