Router Firewall VPN functions
Hi everybody!
I'm looking for a FireWall which permit VPN access to our network.
I've just seen in different models this one : FVS336G
But I have some questions :
Does it allow to access our network with VPN (I mean access to NAS, files, etc...) or can we only access to the FireWall configuration with VPN? And if we can access to our files with VPN, does it require a software? (from Netgear or others?)
Can it really be used as a router? (no subnetwork)
Is it easy to use?
Thanks for your answers!

Hi Ahiro
Welcome to the community!
FVS336G support IPsec/PPTP/L2TP VPN.
1. With VPN you can access your Network.
2. And can access Firewall configuration with VPN.
3.If you use IPsec VPN, you'd better use Netgear IPsec VPN client "Greenbow". If you use L2TP/PPTP, Please

4.FVS336G can be used as a router.
FVS336G is easy to use. if you have question ,you can reference product manual or contact Netgear.

Thanks for your reply Suli!
Just one more question : Can we use a free VPN software to be connected to the network of the company? Does Microsoft VPN connection works with this kind of product? Or any other free software?

Hi Ahiro
Welcome to the community!
If you want to setup IPsec VPN on Miscrosoft OS,you can download the single-user client software https://www.netgear.com/support/product/VPNG01L.aspx#download . You can test the software for free for 30 days.
If you want to use PPTP/L2TP, you can use Microsoft VPN . Please reference guide: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24393/~/configuring-an-l2tp-vpn-tunnel-to-prosafe%2Fpr...
