Readynas v1 - alternative disks
After many years of loyal service one of the disks in my Readynas duo v1 is failing
(2 times WDC WD20EARS: https://products.wdc.com/library/SpecSheet/ENG/2879-701229.pdf)
I checked (https://kb.netgear.com/20641/ReadyNAS-Hard-Disk-Compatibility-List) for replacement disks.
However as it turns out these disk are end of life and difficult nowdays to buy/find
so, now my question
- does anyone now about 'modern' hard disks that would fit into the bay of my Readynas,
I would like to use this opportunity to increase the capacity (preferably > 4TB)
Thank you very much for all help !
Re: Readynas v1 - alternative disks
I have a similar question about upgrading my ReadyNas Ultra 2
But for me, the ReadyNas still works good and the two HDs work good too. Good quality Netgear!!
Only thing, the two 2TB HDs are getting filled up.
So I am looking for an upgrade to two 4TB storage units (HD or SSD, don't care).
It is for home-use (photos) and I have 2 separate HDs in vault for the ReadyNas backup, so it is not business-critical.
The ReadyNAS Hardware Compatibility List., has some outdated HDs in the list.
Is there someone with experience in this area? To upgrade towards 'current' 4TB storage units in a ReadyNas Ultra 2?
