It seems that Windows 7 needs this setting so as the "re-direct" the wifi management to the Netgear utility.

Re: How can I remove the "NativeWIFI Default Profile"?

I am new to this forum and don't mean to be rude but there are a lot of posts regarding the problems of the NativeWIFI problem.

I am running Windows 7 64bit (notice I specifies the version of Windows I am running) It seems the first response to this statement is to request the version of Windows even though it is specified.

When Window 7 64 bit comes up it defaults to NativeWIFI and does not connect to the Internet. There are a lot of gabbly goop responses that make no sense.

I have deleated the NativeWIFI Profile, rebooted, move the Profile to the bottom of the list and rebooted and it keeps coming back up and becomes the default.

Can someone please answer how to get rid of this and to connect to my home wireless network.

Explain in plan English so a Tech Savy 70 year old can understand, using conversational English not some garbled translation, either that or I will go back to Linksys hardware

Re: How can I remove the "NativeWIFI Default Profile"?

As with my previous reply, The "NativeWIFI Default Profile" seems to indicate that Windows 7 is to allow the manufacturer's management tools to control access the wireless network.

It is needed and do not remove.

Re: How can I remove the "NativeWIFI Default Profile"?

I have solved this problem by updating to Netgear Genie Version 2.0.0.5
The previous version was not fully developed and contained an ugly bug.
