The wiFi adapter in my Samsung Series 8000 TV is dead. The LAN connection works but the distance between router (1st floor) and TV (2nd floor) is too long for cable. Is there a WiFi adapter that is relatively inexpensive with an ethernet output that will restore my WiFi connection to the TV? Thanks.

Re: AC5300
Netgear's adaptors aren't up to that sort of application. They need something like Windows and work on PCs. And "dongles" designed for smart TVs are expensive and often maker specific.
I solved the same issue by using Powerline Ethernet to give the Smart TV (actually a BluRay player) a wired connection.
Not only is this easier to set up, it is faster and more reliable.
