Activity LED Constant Blinking And Hidden Networks

This is about the WNA1100 WiFi adapter on a windows 8.1 32bit system -- updated.
Just installed a few days ago and did not notice this continuous LED blinking until last couple days.
Led becomes very dim (but continues blinking) when I click the Refresh button on the “Join a network” page of Netgear genie.
To get the LED bright again, I use the “safe remove / eject” and then reinsert.

Used the latest install software WNA1100_Setup-V2.2.0.1-1_signed.zip downloaded from
https://www.netgear.com/support/product/WNA1100.aspx

Is it normal for the blue led to be blinking all the time -- with no net activity / no net apps running?
Will a hidden network show up in the network list once it has been connected to?
Or could something be connected without showing up in the network list?

Hi qw5,

Blinking LED light means either it is scanning for available networks or the adapter is sending or receiving data.

Is the adapter connected to a hidden network?

If such a connection would NOT show up in the list of 'connected', then there might be such a connection.

I have only ever connected it to my home Sprint Hotspot and that is the only connection that shows.

Hi qw5,

If the adapter has not been connected to a hidden network before then it should be connecting to any hidden network.
