Downloadrate became low after using thw WNA3100 for about 3 months

Hello, friendly people!

I am sadly not a professional regarding topics like these, but I noticed that for about a week my downloadrate became really really low. It used to be 25k Kb/s and now it is only at about 2-4k Kb/s. Well, at least this is what the Speedtestes told me. 
Another piece of evidence: I used to download games via Steam with a speed of like.. 1,5 Mb/s if not more. But for the last week this number dropped to 200 Kb/s AT BEST.

There is definetly something wrong, but I have no idea what, because as I said:
It used to work perfectly fine, I had a great time with my Internet, you know...
But suddenly it just.. broke apart and that makes me kind of sad ^^'

I hope someone out there can help me.

Hi Mooglie,

Do you have other devices that you can check the download speed of your connection?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the adapter?

Turning off antivirus and firewall for the meantime?

I am living together with two room-mates. Both of them have no problems with their connection whatsoever.

Do you mean the Netgear software or the driver for the Adapter itself?
Because I reinstalled the Netgear software several times and updated it to the newest version.

Tried that, but it just brought minimal results.

I even played around with the settings of my router. This increased my downloadrate from 1500 Kb/s to 4500 Kb/s. It´s better, but no solution

Yeah, I think I got it. I took my time and left my Antivirus search for any kind of threat for about 4 hours straight and after it found two things and delted them everything got better
