Steam downloads corrupt?! (Using A6210 USB Wi-Fi Adapter)
So, I paid 60 dollars for this, lol.
I have the latest drivers, etc.
When I try to download ANY game on Steam, it says that the file is corrupt, etc.
Verifying the integrity of the game cache will NOT work.
Please help!!!!!

It's not my computer.
I tried a Linksys usb adapter, it downloaded games perfectly fine.
However, the netgear one is fast, so please! 😞

Hi!
I had the same problem, just take it off the stand and plug it directly into the computer. Worked for me at least, hope this helps.

I read this on the Steam discussion forums also (perhaps it was you). I shall try directly connecting and report back. This issue is 100% repeatable with my A6210 and Steam downloads.
Cheers,
A

Re: Steam downloads corrupt?! (Using A6210 USB Wi-Fi Adapter)
I'm having this issue now with the latest 10.0.34 drivers, for Windows 10 Pro.
This adapter is useless. Have had nothing but trouble with it.

Re: Steam downloads corrupt?! (Using A6210 USB Wi-Fi Adapter)
The only solution was to use another method of connecting, avoiding the netgear adapter.
I have a support case open with Netgear and they are working on trying to recreate the issue, so fingers crossed.
By chance are those with corrupted download problems all in the UK? On Virgin? Using a Superhub?

Re: Steam downloads corrupt?! (Using A6210 USB Wi-Fi Adapter)
Hi aloonj,
Do you have any updates from the support team?
Hi rafitamolin,
Do you have other devices that can performs well with steam download?
How far is the computer(with A6210) from the router?
Try changing channels of the 2.4Ghz as it might be a network interference with other wireless network.

Re: Steam downloads corrupt?! (Using A6210 USB Wi-Fi Adapter)
Support did some testing to try and recreate my issues and decided that the issue was interferance on 5Ghz. I swapped to 2.4Ghz and seemed much better..
However, I have tested alternate WiFi adapters at 5Ghz from same location and have no issues, so I am not fully convinced the problem lies with interference in my home.

Re: Steam downloads corrupt?! (Using A6210 USB Wi-Fi Adapter)
I spoke too soon!
Prompted by this latest forum post, I decided to try downloading again via Steam now that I am permanently on 2.4Ghz, but no, it has once again stopped mid download, I keep re-trying and eventually Steam reports the download is corrupt.
I will reopen my case and inform support.
[EDIT]
It seems my case has been closed and I cannot re-open it. At this point I think it will just be easier buying an alternate adapter.
