Wireless Ping Spikes - A7000

Hello,

Recently I've started expirencing random ping spikes with my Netgear A7000 adapter. I have reinstalled the software, as well as tried older versions of it to no avail. I have found a solution- disabiling WLAN Auto Config in it's settings via netsh, however this is a very messy solution and I shouldn't have to do this on a production unit. Any ideas on how to fix this on a more permananent basis?

Re: Wireless Ping Spikes - A7000

If you are running Windows 10, Disable the RunSwUSB service, reboot.

This MAY help you with ping spikes.

Re: Wireless Ping Spikes - A7000

To tell the trurth, junk the device. Buy something different.

Write it off as a bad purchase.

I bought it and now only use it as a backup device (since I bought it)

Has never worked from day 1 under Windows 10.

Re: Wireless Ping Spikes - A7000

If you are something Directional edimax ew-7811dac

Cheap, just works, but they do burn out over the months pushing 100GB's.

I do 400GB per month over about 700 meters, 5G, remote backup nightly.

I was hoping the A7000 would be long lasting, but I'm stocking up on the Edi's. Die/replace/forget until it dies.

At $27 it's way cheaper than I paid for the A7000 and the time to relises this is pointless.

Only have to google A7000 for issues.

Re: Wireless Ping Spikes - A7000

8-9 months replacement, not the best thing, but it works for the Edimax.

Plus I'm sure I push it beyond the design spec's, but Netgear has the A7000 that doesn't even work?

So what gives Netgear?

Actually- just fixed my Netgear. Will look into replacements (the Edimax doesn't go anywhere near the speed I need it to, and is discontinued).

Re: Wireless Ping Spikes - A7000

How did fix it?

Bet you will back tomorrow....

Speed and throughtput are 2 different things.

Heck I would be using Aruba gear if I could.

This is the first issue I've had with the product over the course of 2 years and 4 different units (one of each of my computers). Please stop being unnessecarily toxic.

Sorry if you seem it toxic.....

I work in IT so we can seem direct at times.

We don't try to be like that and it may come across like that.

Sorry

Re: Wireless Ping Spikes - A7000

No, not really an excuse.

You were being overly toxic and you know it. It was by intention. You did the following:

1) Attempted to show-off your technical knowledge (and failed miserably, mind you).
2) Said "bet you will be back here tommorow" and made other toxic comments regarding this company's product on their own forum, when a simple "this is a bad product- I had a bad time" would have sufficied.

None of those things were being "direct" as you so eloquently put it. This message is an example of being direct.

Who would have thought, you find Trolls on a support fourm.

No wonder IT people don't like trying to help others for FREE, that would cost $70 an hour otherwise.

Give Up, case closed, on your own.

Honestly, not sure why I even posted here. I solved my own issue five minutes after I created this thread, approximately seven minutes after I started working on the problem.
