There is a good chance that other makers of USB Adapter's have fallen victim to the same bug.
It is not a bug.
Apple has changed the way applications are installed ontop of the operating system by introducing a read-only system volume.

Here is a link explainging what and why they changed it.

Hi, All,
For now, the A7000 MacOS software cannot support MacOS 10.15 (Catalina). Engineering team are working on a new software to support MacOS 10.15. We expect to support it first quarter of 2020.

Blanca

Is there any way of being placed on a mailing list or some other way of being notified when the upgrade is available?

So, should everyone just be all right with not having network access for a few months? You should really post a fix immediately.

Yes, this is just crazy - to not support Catalina with so much time to prepare for it is just lazy. And Netgear is not a cheap product - it is a Premium priced stuff where this should be inexcusable.
Last time I bought any of that hardware.
