how do i hook my a7000 up to a wifi network?

dont have the little icon on my desktiop (had to download softeare as I dont jave a CD drive to install it off the disk). I can't find where I can asign my adapter to my network?

What is the operating system of the computer? What do you mean by "can't find where I can asign my adapter to my network"? Is the Wireless adapter installed but cannot detect any WiFi network?
