Error message at end of AC1900 software install process:

Can this be fixed or should I return the item to Amazon? Thanks

Re: unicode error: sftwre install fails
What software are you using? CD? Download?
There is software and a manual for the A7000 somewhere at the end of this link:

Re: unicode error: sftwre install fails
Looks like a Windows error.
Try a second download. Or see if Windows will install the drivers from its own set.
That may not be that easy with Windows 8.1, one of the worst versions of Windows to have come out of Microsoft. Windows 10 is streets ahead on that front, with none of the alleged interface benefits of Windows 7. Maybe that is why your installation fails.

Re: unicode error: sftwre install fails
I agree. Already tried additional downloads, as well as straight Win install. Time to pack it in on this project. Much appreciate your help.
