AC1200 remove login page to get the new extender set up page

I have a used AC1200 Wi-Fi booster device. When I connect to it to set it up a login page appears and not the New Extender Setup page. How do I fix this?

What extender do you have? AC1200 is a speed, not a model.

After the reset, did you connect to the netgear_ext page?

I know it sounds stupid but are you connected to the extender's own network and not the routers. (seen it happen).

also, if you're on ios or mac, make sure icloud relay and private mac/ip address are disabled.

Also yesterday i came across a NTEGEAR site that allowed me to chat to a pesron and eventually gave them my phone number to get assigned a case number and a call from a tech. when he called he walked me thru some stuff and when I clicked on the ext network it said there was no IPv6 info being shared and that was the reason. he then proceeded to try to sell me service to

That wasn't netgear. They do charge for help if you're after 90 days but they don't sell you any of that. don't google for netgear support as you'll get scam/con sites.

To get a hold of support. Click on "MyNetgear" at the top.
Register an account (or login) and then the device.
From there you can start the support process. Keep in mind that its only free for the first 90 days.

Netgear uses gearhead for support. you can go directly to them if you'd like as well.

Your page makes it seem like you already hit WPS on the extender. Did you do that?
if you log into your router, does the extender show under the attached devices list (or equivalent list)

No i havent got it to connect to the router yet. If i use WPS will it mess with anything else or does it only mess with the device it find near it that pressed WPS. Ill give it a try
