AC750 Model EX3700 and Synology Rt1900ac
Hi, I can't get my new EX3700 AC750 extender to work with Synology RT1900AC. I can complete the setup but when I try a device to connect to it, it can only go as far as 'Obtaining IP Address'. ...

So everything works fine when its hardwired in running in AP mode? correct?
That means the radio's working in the extender.
have you tried contacting Synology about how to add extenders to their products? I've never used synology router so not sure about their idiosyncrasies.

Hi,
Yes, everything works fine in an AP mode.
I looked at the devices connected to my router and I can see the 2 MAC addresses of the extender. However, I don't see any IP address assigned. Is that normal?
I'll try to contact Synology about this issue and see if they can help.
Thank you.

-Not necessarily. Usually the router assigns an IP address to the extender and then the devices connected.

Hi,
I've contacted Synlogy and they asked the following questoins:
1. Does the Netgear router as an extender means the WDS mode?
2. Whether the Netgear router can only connect with the same brand router when it is used as an extender.
