AC750 WiF Range Extender won't take password after power failure

We have power failures once and a while. I have my router and modem on a battery back up but there is no way to do that for the extender. When the power comes back on I cannot get my devices to connect to the extender again. I have never changed the password but it says it is incorrect. If I am not at home and this happens I have no way to connect to any of my devices such as my thermostat when they cannot reconnect to the extender using the original password.

Last time I just reset the device and started from scratch all over again but that can't be the easiest solution. Advice? Thank you.

Unfortunately resetting and starting over is the easiest solution.
