AX1800 network extender password problem
S/N 6FY215DU508A8
When I try to set up the AX1800 as a WiFi extender via the Nighthawk app all goes well until I shall access the extender by typing in a password. I'm using the same password as for the app but this is not accepted. I then try my access key for my existing router with no luck. The app tells me to look for a network named NETGEAR_EXT but there are no such network to be found. Instead there is one called TN-LU8539 with a good signal strength. Occasionally a network called NETGEAR_GUEST_EXT flicker by, but i does not stay open long enough to be configured.
My questions is:
What network should I attempt to connect to?
What password should I use?
I have an older extender which does not set up a network of its own but rather use the name of my existing (router) network. Why is this extender creating a network of its own? (I don't want a new network, I want to extend my existing!)
