AX1800 wifi mesh extender ethernet ports
Just purchased the AX1800 (EA20) which I have setup and appears to be working fine! My issue is the ethernet ports don't appear to be working, is there a setting I need to check? I have set up this device through the Nighthawk app and firmware is updated. Thanks for any help.

Re: AX1800 wifi mesh extender ethernet ports
What router did you connect it to?
Did you set it up using wps, the installation assistant, or using the app?
What firmware is on it?
Have you tried other devices?

Re: AX1800 wifi mesh extender ethernet ports
Router is: Netgear Nighthawk R6900P
as previously mentioned I set it up with the Nighthawk app.
The firmware updated as soon as it was setup.

Have you tried setting it up using the installation assistant and not the app or wps?
Here's a video of how to use the assistant.

I have set it up twice once with the app and again with the installation assistant, still no joy.

WiFi extenders with Ethernet ports typically "just work". (i.e. no setting or setup required). How have you determined that these ports are not working? (what was connected? Symptoms? - error message? what?)

Re: AX1800 wifi mesh extender ethernet ports
I have tried a couple of devices including my laptop, its like the ports are there but they are not hooked up, just dead! No error messages, nothing!
I am thinking about returning it and getting my money back. Thanks for your help.

Re: AX1800 wifi mesh extender ethernet ports
I'm glad it works but you shouldn't need to turn off smart connect for it to work. It should work with it enabled.
If you're still within your 90 days of free support window, you could contact netgear. Maybe theres a different firmware for it.
What actual version are you on?

Re: AX1800 wifi mesh extender ethernet ports
I finally figured it out, turned off “smart connect”. Went through setup again and they were working!

Re: AX1800 wifi mesh extender ethernet ports
again, glad their working but you shouldn't need to disable smart connect.
If you're needing to do so, I'd recommend contacting support so they're aware of the issue.
You can also mark it resolved if it fixed your issue.
