Ac750 EX3100 password doesn't match

I am trying to connect my WiFi to my extender my Netgear is listed as NETGEAR86 and the extender is reading as NETGEAR88_2GEXT and it is saying the password is incorrect. It is probably because my NETGEAR is 86 not 88? How do I fix this? I reset the extender 3x and same result?

are you installing it using wps? 

If so, try install it using the installation assistant.
