Access Point configuration issue
After restoring the factory defaults on my WN2500RP, I followed the instructions for setting up as an access point. All seems to go well until I power it down after I finish configuring it and power it up in another room... the power light stays amber and the unit will not connect to my router.
Any ideas?

Re: Access Point configuration issue
Can you connect to the router's wifi from that new room (with your phone or some other wifi client)?

Re: Access Point configuration issue
Aehm ... aware a network cable is required to connect the AP to the router? It's an access point, not a extender or repeater.

Re: Access Point configuration issue
I am thinking that you must have a WN2500RPv2. Is that correct? The original WN2500RP doesn't have a power led that changes from amber to green (as least it's not in the manual).
Are you using the instructions on page 16 here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/WN2500RPV2/WN2500RPv2_UM_EN.pdf
Have you confirmed that the powerline ethernet is working properly?
If yes, then I think that the next step is to do a reset of the extender, and try to set it up again. The amber LED indidcates that the extender isn't completing it's boot.
