Bug: media server not starting upon reboot
Here's a bug I came across recently: If you have the "Enable Media Server" tickbox checked and you reboot your EX6200, the media server will not automatically start despite the fact that the box is checked. What you need to do is to untick the box, press "Apply," check the box again, press "Apply" again, and then your media server will finally start. This is the only way media server can be started upon reboot. That, or never reboot your EX6200. 😄 Surely, this cannot be an EX6200 "feature," can it?
Anyone here can report this bug please?

Re: Bug: media server not starting upon reboot
Yeah, someone's gonna have to look into EX6200's Samba and media server capabilities, as there are numerous bugs with them. I am, for example, not sure that the media server "Automatic" content scan option works. It would also be nice to be able to disable it. All in all, both the Samba and the DLNA servers look to me like half baked, and full of bugs.
Can anyone with any authority bring these grievances to the attention of the Netgear luminaries?

Re: Bug: media server not starting upon reboot
Here's some detail about the above mentioned situation: I got a bunch of DLNA clients (smart TVs, Blu-Ray players etc.). When connected directly to my R7000 router, they get detected immediately by all DLNA control points on the network. When connected to the EX6200 extender, it's a crapshoot: it takes a long while until they are detected on the network, and sometimes they never get detected. My feeling is that this says something about the EX6200, and about its capability to broadcast DLNA (and Samba) protocols on the network--namely that it is very lazy/sloppy/buggy in this respect. Am I right, or is this normal behavior?
