Can only access the 2.4G band in N900

New N900 Dual Band Gigabit Router. After setup, I can only see the 2.4GHz band network and not the 5GHz band network on any and all wireless devices we are using in the house. The blue light is on and setup appears to be good. Using the same mobile devices at another location, I can see both bands of an N600 (this includes laptops, iPhone, and Xbox). NG Genie only shows the 2.4GHz network in router settings. I can access both when I log into the router directly. I have no issues with the 2.4GHz band. Each band has different SSIDs.
I am stumped but that could be related to me being a novice or amateur with networking.
Any ideas?
Any suggestions of troubleshooting documentation I can find?
