So I have my wifi router in the halway, adn my extender in my room, it's working but the signal is weak... I thought I would be able to just plugg the extender in with a ethernet cable, but when I do I get a exclamation mark over the wifi icon and the signal comming from the wifi router in the halway seems to get jamed too. What on earth am I doing wrong? Plz and thank you.

When you hardwire in the extender, you need to rerun setup and set it up using access point mode and not extender mode. Or you will run into issues.
