Cant link technicolor router model TG588v to a netgear extender WN3000RP

i purchased a router Technicolor TG588v and i am unable to link this to my net gear extender model WN3000RP

when i push both wps buttons on both items a green wps light comes on the router for 1 minute then cuts out . The 2 way arrows on the extender do not light up

my net gear extender worked fine on old technicolor router
