Changing Netgear Extender
I have Netgear Extender Model EX6100 that I had WPS connected to my
Nighthawk AC1900 Model C7000. I would like to purchase the Netgear AC1900
Mesh Extender Model EX6400 and replace my existing extender. Do you think it is an overkill based on my existing router? Also most importantly, my present WiFi
Network settings are: MyWifi---MyWifi-5G---MyWifi-2GExt---myWifi-5GExt. Right now I only connect to the 2.4GHz WiFi Band. If I replace my extender with the EX6400, will it be a simple WPS pairing keeping the same 2G or 5GExt network name or would I have to reconfigure my Ring doorbell security WiFi settings again? Meaning is it going to be a fast and easy WPS pairing plug and play in the replacement?
Looking forward to your reply
Chris

Re: Changing Netgear Extender
Hi @Wingchun, apologies for the late reply. If you haven't yet, the EX6400 will be just right since it shares the same bandwidth capacity as the C7000 (AC1900). It also has the Mesh functionality which your existing extender does not have. That means easier pairing and roaming for your WiFi devices. Yes, the EX6400 can also be paired via WPS.
