Choosing wifi extender at Argos, WN3000RP vs N300
Hi all
Am planning to purchase one of these tomorrow for a bedroom upstairs at the back of the house. Our local Argos store stocks both these, they look identical and are the same price:
Does anybody have a suggestion which one I should buy?
Many thanks!

Re: Choosing wifi extender at Argos, WN3000RP vs N300
"N300" is a speed rating, it is not a model number.
It looks to me like these products are both WN3000RPs. The other N300 model is the EX2700, and it's front panel artwork is a bit different. You can see that here: https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-range-extenders/default.aspx Note the directional arrows on the WN3000RPv3 aren't on the EX2700.
But relying on the photos is a bit risky, since I have seen cases where sellers are re-using older artwork. So you could enquire I guess.
The WN3000RPv3 is older, but there isn't much (if any) performance difference between it and the EX2700.
FWIW, N300 is the slowest speed rating. If it meets your performance needs, then it is certainly cost effective. But there are much faster extenders.

Re: Choosing wifi extender at Argos, WN3000RP vs N300
Be aware that both the WN3000RP (also N300) and the EX2700* N300 are 2.4 GHz only extenders.
*EAN/UPC 606449104912 is the Netgear EX2700-100UKS Mini 300 Mbps Wifi Range Extender
