Connect from the extender to the router with an ethernet cable
I want to Connect from the extender to the router with an ethernet cable and have WiFi from the extender for my garage. Is this possible?

Page 40 of the manual in the FAQ goes over this.
Can I connect the extender to the router or access point with an Ethernet cable?
No. The extender is designed to use WiFi to connect to the router or access point.
Netgear does sell extenders with AP mode but the EX2700 doesn't have that option. I think you need to go up to the EX3700 at least for AP mode.
