Connecting a previously connected EX6100 extender to a new AC1600 Router

Replaced a Netgear N900 Router with a AC1600 router.  The router works with computer etc, but not the extender.  I cannot get the prior network off the extender and connect the new router to the extender.

Model: EX6000|AC750 Dual Band WiFi Range Extender

Factory reset the extender and set it up from scratch.
